Luscious Locks

The warmer months can sometimes leave your hair feeling a bit dull, dry or extra frizzy. Swimming, sun exposure, chlorine and that beautiful blonde balayage you had over summer can leave your hair needing a lot of TLC by the time winter rolls around. Give your hair health a boost with our top tips below.

Protect and nourish your locks

Just like your skin, your hair can also benefit from a nourishing treatment to keep it strong. Essential oils, such as Moroccan argan oil are a great option for dry hair. Try applying some to your ends for a more supple appearance. Coconut oil is also great as it is a natural emollient that fills the gaps in your hair strands.

Avoid washing your hair everyday

While shampoo removes dirt and sweat, it also strips your hair of its natural oils. Try washing your hair every other day to avoid drying out your hair and scalp.

Add essential fatty acids to your diet

Essential fatty acids can help with thinning hair and make it shinier. You can get essential fatty acids, such as omega-3 by eating marine proteins such as salmon, oysters, tuna or sardines. For an extra boost, try adding DMK’s EFA Ultra to your routine.

Get a trim and avoid bleaching

If left, split ends can travel up the hair and break off even higher, damaging your hair and slowing growth. Bleaching and dyes can remove your hair’s natural moisture and leave the hair feeling rough and coarse. Book in with your hairdresser frequently to avoid damage.
